I am an award winning photographer based between Canada and England. I studied psychology and photography before developing my own practice. I have worked with commercial clients and NGOs around the world using images to tell their stories in a way that has a lasting positive impact.

Communicating something of our shared human experience through stories motivates my work. I bring a sense of authenticity to every brief. I shoot with my heart engaged and bring soul into commerce. Whether with Getty Images, advertising agencies, or social organisations, each project is an ongoing conversation from start to finish to ensure the final tune sings all the right notes.

I bring a lot of experience to each brief.  I’ve often worked on projects from inception, brainstorming with the team to help them come up with ideas and storyboard them. I can produce engaging and compelling written content to accompany images, as well as recorded and mixed interviews and soundscapes. I am familiar with post-production of images mainly using Photoshop and Lightroom.

Liv has shot campaigns for a wide range of companies to include:  Casacom Communications, Interior designers Rümker, aeronautic engineers A7 Integration, The Royal Geographical Society, London;  A2&Co, The Royal Opera House, London; Sadler’s Wells, Penguin Books, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Red Consultancy, Second Movement Opera, and fashion designer Sindiso Khumalo. She has produced work for FilleActive, The Universities of Montreal and McGill, Brother Canada, The EU Commission Canada, IUCN, Browning Environmental Communications, Agence MVA, The Royal Fusiliers, The Green Alliance, Editorial Intelligence, Hebridean International Cruises, Goldman Sachs,  Reclaimed Goods  and Inch Time Records.

Liv has created projects for international charities and NGOs including Coaching For Hope, South Africa; WIZO, Israel; Medical Action Myanmar; The Testimony Project, U.K; Act for Darfour, London; Sandblast Arts, Algeria; Carr Gomm, London; For Our Children, Montreal; Clowns Without Borders, Montreal.  Each project is aimed at communicating the work of the organisation through the narrative of an individual or community to be used as an advertising tool to raise money and support.

Independent Projects

Personal projects include After the Kids Go to Sleep, a reflection on Liv’s experience of motherhood. Flashes of Light: An intimate portrait of her growing family . Demo-crazy: images and audio recordings reflecting the political unrest and uncertainty in Myanmar, and Devil’s Garden: a series of images that reflect on the external geographical landscape and the individual experience of the Saharawi people in exile in Algeria.

Together photographer Alison Palmer, Liv produced The Footballers a series of portraits of 11 of England Women’s Senior Football Squad shot between 2009 and 2012 the project charts the transition of the female game from amateur to professional in the U.K. The images exhibited in Wembley Stadium, London, FOFI, Bristol and were part of an exhibition touring the UK.

During the first lockdown of the pandemic in 2020  Liv photographed  and recorded the experiences of her neighbours. The portraits have been included in a number of publications, exhibitions and international photography festivals. Even When It Is Grey We See Further Now

Short-listed for the Taylor Wessing National Portrait Prize in 2011 and 2015. Selected for The Portrait Salon in 2012.
